Provides an update on permitting for the Silver Hart Project, Watson Lake, YT
The YESAB public registry shows that the most recent Silver Hart exploration permit application (submitted under CMC Metals Ltd, now Walker Lane Resources) entered the assessment process on October 20, 2023. The evaluation phase was completed on July 24, 2024, and YESAB issued its authorization with recommendations on November 15, 2024. This recommendation document effectively concluded the assessment and authorized exploration activities under the original proposal. The decision timeline was extended partly due to government "capacity issues" and partly due to clarification requests. YESAB extended the recommendation period three times because of “high project workload and corresponding capacity issues,” adding approximately 100 days beyond the standard two-week recommendation window. YESAB also requested a copy of the revised MLUA; the proponent responded that they did not yet have sufficient information for specific areas. It is important to note that proponents are not required to demonstrate that enough information has been gathered to warrant advanced exploration activities on the claims when filing for a permit, which can contribute to high assessment workloads and capacity pressures. Following the November 2024 authorization, no further activity appears in the registry until March 18, 2026, when a consolidated decision document was issued. This document reflects an amendment submitted by the proponent after acquiring the Blue Heaven Claims, which added 121 additional claims to the project footprint. There was no interruption in work activities listed on the YESAB site. In total, the YESAB record shows roughly 392 days attributable to both the capacity-related extensions (~100 days) and the amendment process (~292 days). There is no indication in the YESAB registry of an 850-day review period or regulatory delay. The company’s public reference to “850+ days” appears to reflect the total calendar time between the initial submission (late 2023) and the amendment decision (March 2026), rather than the actual duration of regulatory review. MREs for the Silver Hart Project were filed by CMC on November 27, 2024, and by Walker Lane on January 9, 2026—both after the November 2024 authorization, which aligns with the documented permitting timeline. The Failure-to-File Cease Trade Order (FFCTO) was issued on April 1, 2026.
